Roblox Chat Controls Guide for Parents

Roblox gives parents powerful chat and privacy controls. Configuring them correctly is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your child online. This guide walks you through every setting.

How to Configure Chat Settings

  1. Log into your child's Roblox account.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy.
  3. Under "Who can chat with me in app?" select Friends or No one.
  4. Under "Who can message me?" select Friends or No one.
  5. Save your changes.

Privacy Controls

These settings control who can see and interact with your child's account. Review them monthly — they can revert after updates.

  • Set "Who can invite me to private servers?" to Friends or No one.

  • Disable voice chat completely for children under 13.
